York city wall,it looks marvelous,isn't it?

One of the most protective remains of the City Wall are still in tact,which is in square shape around the center city of York.When I walked around them I was wandering of the Great wall of china.In comparision with The Great Wall of China,they are quite narrow and short but still is a fabulouse architecture.I was quite nice view of city as I standed on the wall.




 

Cliff Tower in York

York As one of the most important cities in England, and an important base for holding and administering the north.We did visit the remains of Cliff tower,which were built in the years immediately by Henry III.The history on the tower as below.

In the latter half of the thirteenth century, the keep was rebuilt in stone. It was given a quatrefoil plan, of which there is no other example in England. The keep later became known as Clifford's Tower after Roger de Clifford, who was hanged there in 1322.
